Founder walkthrough

See BridgeLedger in action

Alex, founder of BridgeLedger Marine, walks through the single view ship managers open first — DPR status, document expiry alerts, and open shore requests, all in one place.

  • Spot missing daily reports, expiring documents, and open ship-to-shore requests at a glance.

  • Certificates auto-sorted by expiry — alerts long before a missing document becomes a costly port detention.

  • Structured supply and service requests with status, costs, and history — no more email threads.

  • Daily reports fully structured and searchable, visible to shore the moment they are submitted.

The problem

Daily ops still live in three places — and none of them talk to each other.

Captains email the morning DPR. Certificate expiry dates live in a spreadsheet one person maintains. Supply requests get lost in WhatsApp groups and reply-all threads.

The cost is quiet: a missed certificate at port state inspection, a request that nobody owned, a DPR that arrived three days late because Outlook was full. We put the same three flows — daily reports, documents, ship-to-shore requests — into one place built for ship managers running 3 to 30 vessels.

The platform

Five modules. Nothing else, on purpose.

We deliberately do not ship crew payroll or an ERP. The pilot covers the operational layer that hurts every day — daily reporting, document compliance, supply requests, fleet visibility, and planned maintenance.

01

DPR

Structured daily position reports — submitted, searchable, exportable.

  • Captain fills a structured form: position, ROB, weather, ETA, deviations
  • Office sees the report the moment it is submitted
  • Searchable, sortable, exportable to CSV
  • Replaces free-text email and the morning Excel paste
02

Document expiry control

Every certificate, every vessel, sorted by how close to expiry.

  • Single source of truth per certificate, with the file attached
  • Alerts at 30, 14, and 7 days — captain, DPA, fleet manager
  • Audit trail per change, per upload
  • Built so that a missing expiry is a process failure, not an accident
03

Ship-to-shore requests

Supply, service, and inspection requests with a real status workflow.

  • Captain raises requests against a vessel, with items where it matters
  • Office tracks status: pending, approved, in purchasing, closed
  • Audit log per request — nothing slips through an email thread
  • Items list for spare parts; attachments where useful
04

Operational dashboard

One screen the office opens first in the morning — three numbers that drive the day.

  • Missing DPR today, across the fleet
  • Documents expiring this month, sorted by urgency
  • Open requests by status, grouped by vessel
  • Designed for the 9:00 stand-up, not for a quarterly report
05

Maintenance & compliance

Planned maintenance, work orders, ISM-ready audit trail — with running hours ingested from DPR.

  • Components, job definitions, and work orders with a full lifecycle
  • Running hours read from each daily DPR — anomaly guard catches false readings
  • Six built-in reports: Critical Equipment Register, CMS Surveyor, Postponement Log, Safety-Critical Tests, Survey Readiness, Running-Hours Anomalies
  • Workflow events form a tamper-evident chain — defensible at PSC inspection

Inside the platform

What a captain, a fleet manager, and a DPA actually see.

Real screens from a working tenant — not mockups, not stock images. This is the interface the pilot crew uses on day one.

01 · Daily Progress Reports

Structured DPRs, replacing the morning email.

Captains submit a structured daily report — position, ROB, weather, ETA, deviations — and the office sees it the moment it lands. Status chips make it obvious who reported, who is still in draft, and which days are already verified.

DPR Custom Fields — configurable DPR template with per-vessel overrides

DPR fields are configurable per company, with per-vessel overrides — the form mirrors the report your captains already write.

02 · Document & certificate control

Every certificate, sorted by how close to expiry.

One screen across the fleet. Total / Active / Expiring Soon / Expired KPI tiles up top, sortable table below. Days-to-expiry chips colour-code urgency. Alerts at 30, 14, and 7 days fire to captain, DPA, and fleet manager automatically.

03 · Ship-to-shore requests

Status that actually moves, with an audit trail per change.

Captain raises a supply, repair, or inspection request against a vessel. The office moves it through Draft → Submitted → In Progress → Fulfilled (or Rejected, with a reason). The Progress column on the right shows the timeline at a glance.

04 · Light or dark

Same data, same controls — your captain’s choice of theme.

Light during the morning brief at the office, dark on the bridge at night. The platform follows the operator’s system preference by default, and respects a manual override.

Who it’s for

Ship managers running 3 to 30 vessels — where daily ops still touch Excel.

If your captains email the DPR, your superintendents track jobs in a notebook, and your office team chases certificates across folders — you are the operation we built this for.

  • For captains

Submit DPR. Raise supply, repair, or inspection requests. See what your vessel owes.

  • For superintendents

Track operational issues across vessels. Approve requests. Move things forward.

  • For office teams

Control expiring documents. Watch the morning dashboard. Close requests before they age.

The pilot

60 days. 1 to 3 vessels. We do the setup.

A short, defined pilot — long enough to land two document-expiry cycles and sixty days of DPRs, short enough that nobody feels trapped. Either side can walk away cleanly at day 60.

What we commit to

  • ProvisionedTenant live within 48 hours of pilot start
  • MigratedOne vessel's certificates uploaded by us

What this pilot is not

Not a full ERP replacement

Not a crew payroll platform

Focused on the operational layer — daily reporting, document compliance, supply requests, fleet visibility, planned maintenance. Anything beyond that can be assessed after the pilot proves value.

After booking

What happens next, in five concrete steps.

We start with a short operational review and a live walkthrough. If the pilot is a fit, we can support your internal procurement steps.

  1. 01

    15-minute intro call

A short call to understand whether the platform is even a fit. No deck, no slide-by-slide tour — just a focused conversation about your daily ops.

  2. 02

    We review your current workflow

How DPR moves between vessel and office today. Where documents live. How requests get raised and tracked. Honest gap-mapping, on one call.

  3. 03

    We prepare a pilot setup

Tenant provisioning, one vessel’s certificates migrated, a DPR template tuned to your vessel type, accounts for a captain and a fleet manager.

  4. 04

You run the pilot for 60 days

Daily DPR through the platform, expiry alerts firing, ship-to-shore requests with status. We are on call. Weekly 30-minute check-in.

  5. 05

    At day 60, you decide

Continue at the agreed commercial rate, extend the pilot by 30 days with clear goals, or take a full export of your data and close the pilot on clear terms.

Trust & safety

Trust built on outcomes, not on logos.

No customer logos we have not earned, no certifications we cannot defend. Just the operational guarantees a ship manager actually cares about on day one.

You leave with your data

Day-60 export is written into the pilot agreement. CSV plus original files within five working days of asking — no lock-in clauses, no friction.

Your first vessel works before we add more

Pilots are 1 to 3 vessels by design. We do the setup, the data migration, and the training so the first month is calm, not a project.

Start with a short walkthrough

A 90-second video, then a live demo on a vessel of yours if the pilot looks like a fit. We do not lead with a 40-slide deck.

Limassol-local, EU-hosted

Headquartered in Cyprus, hosted in the European Union. We can meet at your office; we do not need to fly anyone in to begin.

Security & data handling

Sensitive crew PII is encrypted at rest

Passport, seaman book, and date-of-birth fields are encrypted in storage with keys we control.

Captain, DPA, and office only see what they should

Role-based access is in from day one. A captain can only see his own vessel; a DPA sees fleet-wide certificate data; an administrator sees everything.

Backups daily, restore tested

The platform takes a fresh backup every night and the restore path is rehearsed, not assumed.

Data access, export, and deletion

Supported as part of our EU-hosted operating model. Aligned with the rights you would expect under GDPR.

FAQ

Questions we hear most.

If something below does not answer your question, the 15-minute call will.

  • Where is the data hosted?

On infrastructure inside the European Union. The data layer is PostgreSQL with PII fields — passport numbers, seaman book numbers, dates of birth — encrypted at rest with keys we control. Backups are taken daily and restore is tested.

  • How do we get our data out if we leave?

Data export on demand is written into the pilot agreement. CSV exports of DPRs, requests, and document metadata, with the actual files in a zip — delivered within five working days of your request. No lock-in clauses.

  • What if a captain has no internet at sea?

We are web-only today and we do not claim offline-first. The platform works whenever the vessel has a connection — VSAT, Starlink, or in-port. Offline-lite drafts that queue and sync are on the roadmap, prioritised after the first paying customer.

  • Does it integrate with our existing ERP?

CSV import and export are supported today. Deeper integrations can be scoped after the pilot, based on the systems you already run.

  • Can we use our own DPR template?

Custom fields exist today — string, number, date, dropdown, multiselect, boolean — and DPR forms can be configured per vessel type. We set this up during pilot onboarding. A visual drag-and-drop form builder for non-technical office users is roadmap.

  • What does the pilot cost?

The 60-day pilot is free. Commercial pricing is discussed after pilot scope review — there is no public price list here because price only makes sense in the context of your fleet and what you actually use.

One short message. Then we decide if there is something here.

The fastest reply is on WhatsApp — your name, your company, and a line about your fleet. We will respond within a working day with the 90-second walkthrough, a live demo tenant to explore, and the next step.
